CAN & partners win Outstanding Achievement Award for Wimbledon 3D
In recognition of the success of Wimbledon in 3D, CAN, Sony Professional, BBC, The All England Club and NEP Visions have been honoured with an Outstanding Achievement in Stereo 3D award by Sports Video Group (SVG).
Held at IBC in Amsterdam the Sport Technology Awards celebrate achievements in sports productions.
“For six years the Sport Technology Achievement Awards have honoured innovators like HBS, OBS, France Televisions, SIS Live for work on events like the World Cup, Olympics, and more,” says Martin Porter, SVG Europe co-executive director. “This year’s recipients continue a tradition of innovation in sport production that advances the sport production marketplace.”
The Wimbledon 3D coverage was seen in over 250 cinemas worldwide and by 18,000 3D television viewers in the UK. The BBC’s coverage was an important milestone for the corporation being it’s first ever 3D broadcast.
