CAN films the adiPower Predator launch for adidas
The launch of the latest evolution of adidas’ iconic Predator boot is always a big event and when seven of European football’s biggest names came together to showcase the new adiPower Predator, CAN were enlisted by adidas to capture the day’s events.
Gathering at The Old Truman Brewery in East London, top stars Kaká (Real Madrid), Nani (Manchester United), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Jack Rodwell (Everton), JonJo Shelvey (Liverpool), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Club Bilbao) and Riccardo Montolivo (Fiorentina) all discussed the visionary boot that each of them will be wearing next season and then demonstrated its performance in a series of unique skill based challenges.
CAN filmed the players in a specially built skills arena created by adidas where they were able to test their control and accuracy. Splitting into two teams, they then took on competition winners in a game of ‘football paintball’ which gave fans the chance to interact with the players in a unique and unusual way.
The event also gave the players a chance to show off the new adiPower boots in action. Nani, Van Persie and Kaká played a key role in the development of the boots through testing and contribution of valuable input and feedback and CAN filmed 1-2-1 interviews with them on their impressions of the boot.
Robin Van Persie said of the new boots: “The new adiPower Predator is perfect for controlling the ball. If you have a good first touch and good ball control then you are able to own the game.”
Following the event CAN produced a video news release (VNR) B Roll of the launch which was distributed to broadcasters and programme makers globally.
