One of the leading 3D production companies in Europe offering end to end creative solutions for filming, post, screening and distribution
Can Communicate (CAN) are one of Europe’s leading 3D HD production companies and over the last 6 years have filmed all entertainment genre in 3D, including sport, the arts, music, drama, documentaries and light entertainment. We produced the 3D Live broadcast of the FIFA World Cup 2010 and most recently completed the award winning 3D production of the Wimbledon Championship 2011, the first 3D broadcast by the BBC.
We work with rights holders, brands and impresarios to bring their events alive as 3D entertainment experiences which can be commercialised and distributed across a broad range of platforms, including TV, Cinema, tablets and mobiles. 3D provides a new and exciting way to engage customers whilst demonstrating cutting edge innovation.
The following are examples of how 3D can open up new commercial or marketing opportunities for rights holders and brands:
- ‘Alternative Content’ is essentially anything screening in a cinema that isn't a movie, so anything from concert films, to live operas, to sports events. For exhibitors, this means the chance to attract a new audience to the cinema, for audiences, it means the chance to see great events up close and personal, and for rights holders it means reaching new audiences and generating new revenues. CAN has produced Arts and Sports events in 3D for global audiences
- 3D TV Programming is being driven by TV channels like Sky, ESPN, 3Net, Discovery, Canel+ and Consumer Electronics companies like Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and LG who are producing a wide array of 3D TV’s, Laptops, Tablets, Consoles and Mobile devices. CAN produces TV programming and interstitials and the demand for 3D content continues to exceed supply.
- 3D Brand Entertainment provides brands and sponsors to achieve ‘cut thru’ and captivate conference or exhibition delegates. CAN produces 3D Commercials, Conference Content and Experiential Events.
We invested significant time and money in 3D production across the board, from camera and editing equipment to people and training. So while most are just starting to gear up for it, we can look back on six successful years producing 3D features, from sports and the arts to entertainment and brand generated content.
We can partner you through every step of this new and exciting process, offering you expert advice on concepts, filming and post production. We can even help demystify things like 3D projection and screening.
Here’s what we can do for you:
Consultancy
CAN partners your project from the start, beginning with creative treatment. We have a wealth of experience in generating innovative ideas that showcase 3D technology and bring your brand or programme to life.
During these crucial planning stages we will also project manage shoot locations, production and logistics. And if your team needs an insight into this new way of making content, we can provide training on camera equipment and production technology.
Filming
CAN’s 3D camera operators are experts in making content for blue-chip brands and leading programme makers. We can produce recorded content for packaging in post-production, or 3D live broadcasts where content undergoes manipulation and correction onsite. This is something that few companies can offer. We can even provide a 3D layer to complement an existing 2D production.
CAN’s bespoke rigs allow for smooth zooming and perfect capture, whether in the studio or on location. And because we own so much of our equipment, we can drive down the cost of creating high-quality 3D film.
Post Production
CAN invests heavily in training to ensure our 3D editors are up to date with new post-production technology. And our equipment line-up speaks for itself featuring Quantel Pablo IQ 3D editing systems offering live 4K streaming and real-time 3D editing to deliver feature-film quality.
Other services include 2D-to-3D conversion plus multi-format mastering and encoding. We can create content in all polarised-screen formats, from cinema to television and other platforms.
Screening
One of the most exciting aspects of the recent 3D revolution is the ability to set up 3D screenings almost anywhere. It can also be one of the most complicated and confusing, with a wide variety of 3D projectors and screens now available.
CAN tracks and tests all new 3D equipment, allowing us to offer sound advice and sophisticated technical support. From special screenings at conferences, exhibitions and product launches to viewings in pubs, arenas and outdoor venues, we can talk you through the technology every step of the way.
