Calcutta Cup in 3D
for
BBC Sport
Brief: Co-produce a live 3D satellite transmission of the Six Nations rugby match between Scotland and England at Murrayfield.
Solution: Three-camera 3D rig allowing for quick relocation and recalibration in what could prove to be challenging weather conditions.
Result: Working closely with BBC Resources, the 3D signal was sent in high definition via satellite from Edinburgh back to the Riverside studios in Hammersmith, London. There it was watched by an invited audience of 270, including members of the press, in a specially equipped polarised 3D theatre. The collaboration was a first in the world of live HDTV 3D broadcast, and it received an enthusiastic response from press and critics.
Please note that we are currently unable to give you the full 3D experience at its highest quality over the internet. If you would like to see this work and more, contact us using the button below to organize a 3D screening in our Richmond or Soho office.
